Warning Signs

The following signs may help you determine if a loved one is at risk for suicide. 

  • Talking about wanting to die

  • Searching for ways to kill themselves

  • Talking about hopelessness or having no reason to live

  • Behaving recklessly

  • Increased consumption of drugs or alcohol

  • Withdrawing or isolating themselves

  • Extreme mood swings
